Join the Kansas School Social Work Association (KSSWA) for a full day of professional development featuring two dynamic presentations focused on ethics and supporting students through grief.
Morning Session – Dr. Grey Endres
Topic: The Ethics of Confidentiality
Upon completion of the session, participants will be able to demonstrate understanding of NASW Code of Ethics 1.07 Privacy & Confidentiality, confidentiality with case examples, the Kansas Code of Unprofessional Conduct, and identify three strategies to influence public policy locally, statewide, and nationally.
*This presentation meets social work requirements for ethics licensure.*
Afternoon Session – Dr. Kimberly Rich
Topic: Supporting Grief and Grief Education in the School Setting
After the session, participants will gain research-based strategies for supporting students and staff during grief, including crisis response, support frameworks, engagement tools for staff, families, and peers, and methods to build school-wide grief literacy.
